As co-founder of long running Brixton clubnight LOCAL, Hannah has been shining a light on the city’s talent for over a decade, from bookings like Josey Rebelle, Tirzah, Mica Levi, and OK Williams to Charisse C, James Massiah, Will Bankhead, Lil Mofo, Gaika, Richard Russell, Jamie XX, Actress and countless others. In 2023 she collaborated with LIFT festival to bring over a collective of DJs from Nairobi to South London.
"From the early days LOCAL always felt special. It was the music, the venues, the people. Hannah and Dean always seemed to have put a lot of thought and effort and research into doing that and doing it well - the curation of the party as a sort of artistic practise, or political act, if you will. The serious endeavour of making sure that people can have fun - because good music is important, good venues are important and good people are important - extending beyond the night itself into a sort of philosophy - Think LOCAL, Act LOCAL - that takes into account the wellbeing of the community at large - and you see this in the work they do with charities and artist groups. It's impossible to overstate the value of nights like LOCAL, and its legacy will be felt for years to come." -
